But what if you have your own proprietary datasets or unique business questions that require a more complex approach? With this in mind, we added an option that enables our users to upload their own data in the form of company numbers and save it as a customisable list.

How does it work?
The Data City allows you to upload their own list of companies to create a static, customisable dataset. By copying and pasting a list of company numbers into the platform, you can enrich their data with a wide range of additional insights from The Data City’s database, including:
- Company URLs
- RTICs
- Financial data
- Growth indicators
- Jobs and skills
To use this feature, you need a list of company numbers (rather than company names). This is because company numbers are unique identifiers, which eliminates issues that could arise from duplicate or similar names.
How to input this information?
You can enrich your own data in the EXPLORE function by following these steps
- Go to Companies tab within the EXPLORE function of the platform
2. Add your company numbers as a comma-separated list in the input box.
3. Once you’ve updated the data, save it as a list. You can access it anytime under the My Lists section.
4. Use the download option to export your enriched list for further analysis.
This functionality works best with smaller datasets of up to 100,000 companies. For larger datasets, you have the option to upgrade and use our API. If you have specific requirements or need assistance with this feature, please get in touch with our Data Services team
