When we look at every Certified B Corp on our platform, Net Zero stands out as one of the sectors they cluster in most. Our Real Time Industrial Classification (RTIC) for Net Zero counts 179 Certified B Corps, behind only Agency Market at 187 and ahead of Digital Creative Industries at 119, one of the highest concentrations of any sector we track.
Net Zero also sits close to the centre of the government’s growth plans. The UK’s net zero economy is already growing three times faster than the wider economy, and the closely related Clean Energy Industries sector is one of the eight sectors backed in the government’s Modern Industrial Strategy with a plan to double investment in the sector to over £30 billion a year by 2035.

Net Zero B Corp shortlist summary
Before the top 10, here’s a snapshot of the wider group these companies came from. We considered 169 registered companies, 163 of which have employee data, spanning 147 distinct brands and employing 8.81k people across the UK.
Together they turn over £1.93bn and generate an estimated £440m in gross value added (GVA), which works out at £62k per employee. They have raised £670m in private investment across 33 companies and pulled in £16.4m of Innovate UK grant funding across 38 grants. As a group, they are growing at an estimated +14.9% per year.
On diversity, 21 of these companies are majority-female founded and 15 are majority-female led, while women hold 125 of the 577 director seats, around one in five. 44 companies have recorded import data and 30 have recorded export data.

How B Corps cluster across sectors
Net Zero isn’t the only sector where Certified B Corp status concentrates, but by scale, it’s the biggest. Counting Certified B Corps by RTIC:

- Digital Creative Industries: 119 companies, 4.7k employees, £408.4m turnover
Net Zero sits second on company count but first by a wide margin on both employees and turnover, more than double the headcount of Agency Market and over five times the turnover of either of the other two sectors.
Three sectors, three different reasons purpose-driven business takes hold there: agency services built on client trust, decarbonisation built on environmental mission, and creative industries built on brand values. But Net Zero’s B Corps are, on average, bigger and more commercially significant businesses.

We started with every Certified B Corp in our Net Zero RTIC, then sorted by best estimate current turnover and took the top ten.
Why it matters
These are some of the UK’s biggest Net Zero businesses that have also proven, through independent B Corp certification, that they meet verified standards on governance, workers, community and environment. Waste management and recycling, green finance, and low carbon consultancy dominate this top ten, a reminder that Net Zero covers far more than clean energy generation.
The timing matters too. With the net zero economy growing three times faster than the wider UK economy, and government backing directed at Clean Energy Industries through the Modern Industrial Strategy, the companies on this list are operating in a part of the economy the government has chosen to back at scale.
