How to find Lightcast data
Lightcast data is available through an additional subscription. If you have a subscription, you’ll find Lightcast data in ANALYSE and EXPLORE.
Let’s say, for example, I want to find companies in Leeds that are hiring web developers. I can apply a location filter for the Leeds local authority and then apply a skills and inclusion filter.
In skills you have the choice of two taxonomies for job roles: Lightcast Occupational Taxonomy (LOT) and Standard Occupational Codes (SOC).
LOT codes are more detailed than SOC codes and may offer more detail if you are searching for roles typical in the emerging economy.
This presents you with a list of 439 companies. For each of the companies, you can click onto their company profile, for further detail.
You can also find this data on ANALYSE. Let’s have a look at the hiring trends in the Artificial Intelligence sector.
You can see the top occupations that are hired, as well as how hiring has changed over time. You can see that in this case, hiring peaked in early 2022.
For each of the occupations listed in the table, you can drill down further. For example, you can see that Production and process engineer positions are being advertised at an increasing rate.
You are also able to understand the skills that are attributed with the job advertisements.
