Built in partnership with Tussell and techUK, the Tech200 is a data-driven view of the 200 fastest-growing technology suppliers to the public sector, enriched by The Data City’s Real-Time Company Classifications (RTICs).

What is the Tech200 list?

The Tech200 is an annual list of the 200 fastest-growing technology suppliers operating in the UK public sector, ranked using Tussell’s market intelligence platform. The Data City’s RTICs dataset is used to enrich the list, providing deeper insight into what these companies do and where they sit within the public sector technology landscape.

Together, the companies on the list demonstrate that public sector technology is no longer niche. It is a mature, high-growth market that supports the digital infrastructure behind public services.

The scale of Tech200

Using Tussell’s market intelligence platform, the 200 fastest-growing technology firms operating in the public sector were identified. Together, these companies have delivered £517m in total growth, with an average percentage growth rate of 284% and an average absolute growth of £2.6m per company.

Using our Industry Engine and real-time data to analyse the top 200, we estimate that the 200 companies featured generated £14.1bn in turnover, contributed over £953m in gross value added (GVA), and have attracted £580.5m in investment. Collectively, they employ more than 26,000 people and are growing at an average annual rate of 8.1%.
