Andrew Purdy Data Scientist

Andrew Purdy is a data scientist and trained economist with over five years of experience across government and private sector roles. When he’s not crunching numbers or building tools, you’ll find him in the gym or enjoying the outdoors.

At The Data City he delivers complex, data-driven projects for high profile clients such as EY, the Tony Blair Institute, techUK and The Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland. His work ensures clients can make informed decisions using detailed, data-backed insights in an intuitive way.

After graduating with a degree in Economics from the University of Leeds, Andrew joined BEIS. At BEIS he was responsible for modelling the impact of Free Trade Agreements and leading on improvements to the model’s capability within the department and across Whitehall.

Andrew also contributes to improving The Data City’s data capabilities. He has drawn on his economics background and data science techniques to develop solutions to identifying demographic information on company founders, financial outliers and company-level trade data.

By combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of data applications, Andrew helps clients maximise the value of The Data City’s tools and datasets.
